How lucky are we?  A few months ago, BMW invited us to witness the top 50 male golfers play for the FedEx Cup.  The tournament was held at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado, the first time the state has seen a PGA Tour event since 2014.

Was Colorado excited for the tournament?  Yes, there were approximately 125,000 golf fans in attendance.

Yes, there were BMWs on multiple holes- X5 hybrid, 760i xDrive, X6 M, M60 and others.  Could you test-drive them?  No, but the view of the golf course from the driver’s seat was spectacular.

But dang, I wish we could have because the:

  • M60- Horsepower up to 523, twin-turbo V-8
  • 760i- 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, 155 mph, 190 mph with the upgraded version

The golf course is 6,200 feet above sea level and at 8,130 yards, it’s the longest in PGA Tour history.  There was water running throughout the course with flowers and boulders highlighting almost all of the holes.  The hills from hole to hole were no joke.  Add in the elevation and yardage and you’d be ready for a break after a couple of holes.

BMW made it a first-class event, with a BMW Owner’s Pavilion on the 18th hole green with free food and beverages.  There was another BMW pavilion overlooking the 15th hole green and the 16th hole tee box for BMW owners.

While we were in the BMW Owner’s Pavilion, someone from BMW asked if we’d like to sit at a table overlooking the 1st tee box.  With an enthusiastic yes, we were able to overhear and see 4 pairings of golfers tee off including Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Keegan Bradley & Ludvig Aberg.

Did we get the upgrade because we’re with Bavsound? 😁

Did everyone that we spoke with BMW love our speakers and subwoofers? 😛

Did they privately wish our sound systems were included in the “Premium Package”? 🤐

Thanks to everyone at BMW and to the Bavsound fans we met at the tournament.  You inspire us to keep innovating the car audio industry.
